The Antonella Scarfone Art Gallery inaugurates the collective “OF STONE, OF EARTH, OF FIRE” edited by Antonella Scarfone
The undisputed protagonists of this exhibition will be the three main elements that have given shape to art for centuries.
THE STONE:
The highly prized Carrara marbles, so much loved by the greatest master sculptors in the history of art, above all the statuary marble, the most sought after for its whiteness, its purity, represented here with gentle mastery by the works of GIOVANNI BALDERI.
The black Cattani marble characterized by its darker and warmer shade, here transformed into skin and femininity by the works of IRENE GIANNACCINI.
THE EARTH:
The varied clay, which, like living flesh, allows itself to be shaped by the skilled hands of the artists, and gives shape to the intense gazes of the works of JANA BÜTTNER, or to the poetic, colorful warriors of PAOLO STACCIOLI or to the silent busts of ANDREA BERNI in his Raku version.
FIRE:
Primary element that melts bronze or bends iron so as to make it sinuous, light and elegant as in the sculptures of FERRUCCIO MAIERNA. O alive, cook and dirty the terracotta of the mammoths and bisons of ULE EWELT. This exhibition is a tribute to these three elements, to their charm, to their soul, to their strength which has always allowed man to give voice to what is inside him.
Also on display are the works of: Allén, Rossana Borzelli, Rosso Emerald Crimson, Francoise De Felice, Gennifer Deri, Kicki Edgren, Angelo Giordano, Aiden Kringen, Filippo Manfroni, Paolo Medici, Carlo Romiti.
The exhibition will open on Saturday 9 March at 4pm and will last until 28 March 2024.
