Pisa 24 June 2023.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the 19th-century Villa Romboli, the Antonella Scarfone Art Gallery in collaboration with the Tourist Port of Pisa and the Marina Development Corporation, exhibited five sculptures by the master Paolo Staccioli in its leafy gardens and inside the villa.
The sculptures will be on display until September 20th.
Villa Romboli is a historic Art Nouveau residence overlooking the Bocca d'Arno, in the tourist port of Pisa.
Uninhabited since before the Great War, it has been completely restored and brought back to its former glory.
The works that lasted 9 months made it possible to preserve as many of the villa's original elements as possible, from the external friezes to the original floors and frescoed vaults.
The villa is historically known for having hosted the actress Eleonora Duse and her partner Gabriele D'Annunzio.
It is currently home to the sales office of the Marina Development Corporation, and houses a public cafeteria inside.
